'Twilight' Stars Could Be Taking Over TV

Three Twi-actors are starring in new pilots — 'Twilight' Tuesday takes a look at who could be next.By Kara Warner Ashley Greene Photo: Didier Messens/ WireImage The news surrounding Hollywood's annual TV pilot season has heated up in recent weeks with the casting announcements of not one, but three "Twilight" stars. It's hard for us to think about life beyond the fifth and final Twi-film, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," but it's clear that the actors are thinking about life after the films that made them household names. This week's "Twilight" Tuesday is dedicated to Ashley Greene, Rachelle Lefevre and Billy Burke, along with any other "Twilight" stars who make an appearance on the small screen in the coming months or years. Coincidentally enough, Greene has signed on to play another Alice, this time in the ABC drama "Americana." The show revolves around a well-known family fashion house run by Robert Soulter (Anthony LaPaglia) that is suddenly shaken up by the arrival of a hot new designer in town (Greene). Other players in the mix include Emilie de Ravin ("Lost") as Soulter's fashionista daughter, Natalie Mendoza and Ken Olin. Lefevre, who originated the role of Victoria in "Twilight" and has a supporting role on "A Gifted Man," has landed the lead in the CBS drama "Applebaum," which is based on Ayelet Waldman's Mommy Track Mysteries book series about a public defender-turned stay-at-home mom who eventually tires of being at home all the time and decides to return to work and become a private investigator. "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" director Chris Columbus will helm the pilot. Finally, Burke, a.k.a. Bella's dad Charlie Swan, will appear in NBC's action drama "Revolution." Burke is set to play a charismatic Marine who is among a group of people trying to find their loved ones as well as a way to survive when all sources of energy in the world have, for some reason, disappeared from existence. The pilot will be executive-produced by J.J. Abrams and directed by "Iron Man" helmer Jon Favreau. So with all these Twilighters taking to TV, who's next? I, for one, would love to see some tongue-in-cheek guest appearances by the cast on shows like "True Blood" or "Vampire Diaries." Nikki Reed told me she's dying to do a stint on HBO's vampy soap, and I think if it were done right, it could be both awesome and hilarious. Jackson Rathbone just left his other passion project, the band 100 Monkeys, so surely he could fit in a couple of days as a mysterious stranger/being in Mystic Falls, right? What "Twilight" stars would you like to see on television? Let us know in the comments below, or tweet me @karawarner! Check out everything we've got on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2." 'True Blood' Star Warns Of The Curse Of 'The Caller'

Stephen Moyer and director Matthew Parkhill recall the eerie occurrences on the film's Puerto Rico set.By Josh Wigler Stephen Moyer in "The Caller" Photo: Samuel Goldwyn Films There are probably are stranger, scarier things in the universe than a mystery woman from the past who can cross the space-time continuum to obsessively call your home telephone for hours and days and weeks on end. But the idea is plenty creepy as the premise of "The Caller," director Matthew Parkhill's indie thriller starring "Twilight" villainess Rachelle Lefevre and "True Blood" vamp Stephen Moyer. In "The Caller," Puerto Rico resident Mary Kee (Lefevre) moves into a new home following a nasty separation from her abusive husband ("Eureka's" Ed Quinn), only to find an even more harrowing nemesis in Rose (Lorna Raver), an unhinged and disgruntled woman living in the late 1970s. Rose somehow has the ability to call Mary's new phone number some 30 years into the future, a seemingly impossible sci-fi feat that leaves our protagonist skeptical, frustrated and frightened in turns. When Mary's patience for Rose's hysteria wears thin, she learns the hard lesson that scorning a deranged woman who lives in the past can be hazardous for your health. Though it boasts a sinister plot, it was actually the behind-the-scenes mysteries that raised the hair on the backs of the "Caller" cast and crew's necks throughout the film's 23-day shoot. "Sometimes a shoot will take on its own energy," Moyer, who plays Mary's love interest and resident time-travel expert John Guidi, told MTV News. "Every day, something was happening. Things were breaking, film missing, scratches on necks ... it just became this regular occurrence. Even after I left the shoot, me and Matthew and Rachelle would speak regularly, and there would be bits and pieces happening on a regular basis: phone calls coming in from people, literally prank phone calls. It was an odd, odd thing." Parkhill said that screenwriter Sergio Casci was convinced there was a "curse of 'The Caller.' " But the director doesn't much believe in curses himself, though even he admitted to "weird" and "unsettling" occurrences. "We dressed Mary's living room with these old National Geographic magazines, and one of them fell open to this page where there were three corpses hanging in this old room, that were identical to the three corpses hanging in our pantry," said Parkhill, referring to a trio of bodies that play a pivotal role in the horror film. "Then when we were shooting in a supermarket, we moved one of the supermarket shelves and there was an old bottle of perfume that had cracked which was labeled 'Rose,' which is [the name of the film's villain]." In the end, none of these eerie events was powerful enough to derail production on "The Caller," which opens in limited release on Friday (August 26). But that doesn't mean that the alleged curse of "The Caller" doesn't still rear its head from time to time. The press junket held in San Juan earlier this week just so happened to coincide with the presence of Hurricane Irene in Puerto Rico, a threat that is now storming its way up the East Coast. As a result of the storm, certain parts of Puerto Rico — including the hotel that housed the "Caller" cast and crew for the week — were left almost entirely without power for multiple days. "It feels particularly fitting that we're in the middle of a hurricane," Moyer told MTV with a grin. "There's no power. Last night, after we all left the bar, we had to go back to [our rooms] with flashlights. It's literally pitch black in the hotel. You've just watched a horror film, which is pretty scary, and you're going into your room with a flashlight and you can't see anything. I think all of us went through some moments last night thinking, 'This is it. My time is up! Somebody's going to jump out of the cupboard!' " Check out everything we've got on "The Caller." 'Twilight' Actress Bryce Dallas Howard Is Pregnant

The child will be the second for Howard, who played evil vampire Victoria in 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.'By Eric Ditzian Bryce Dallas Howard Photo: Junko Kimura/ Getty Images "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" star Bryce Dallas Howard is pregnant with her second child, a rep for the actress has told Us Weekly. Howard and actor husband Seth Gabel ("Fringe") had their first son, Theo, in 2007. Details about how far along she is in her pregnancy or the sex of the child were not disclosed. The 30-year-old actress, the daughter of director Ron Howard, has starred in "The Village," "Spider-Man 3" and "Terminator Salvation," in which she played a pregnant woman not too long after giving birth to Theo. But Howard is perhaps best known for playing the vampire Victoria in "Eclipse" — and for the circumstances under which she took on the role. In July 2009, Summit Entertainment made a sudden announcement that it had decided to replace Rachelle Lefevre, who originated the part of the evil vampire in "Twilight" and its first sequel, "New Moon." Howard then stepped in. "It was actually a really unfortunate circumstance where the actress who everyone really cared deeply about, who has done an amazing job in this role, was unavailable," Howard told MTV News that December. "They were looking for someone to fill that slot. It was right before production actually happened, so of course there was intimidation there and feeling a huge responsibility to do my best." This summer Howard appears opposite Emma Stone in "The Help," an adaptation of the New York Times #1 best-seller about segregation in '60s-era Mississippi. MTV News will actually be talking with Howard and Stone on Thursday as part of our MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week, a five-day extravaganza in which we'll be debuting footage on MTV from some of this summer's hottest films and then sitting down for extended conversations online. So if you've got any questions for Howard, just tweet @MTVNews using the hashtag #spw. For young Hollywood news, fashion and "Twilight" updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com.

'Eclipse' Fans Are More 'Passionate' Than 'Spider-Man' Fans: Bryce Dallas Howard

'I feel, honestly, pressure being part of it because you don't want to let anyone down,' 'Twilight' star says.By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Bryce Dallas Howard in "Eclipse" Photo: Summit Bryce Dallas Howard has done the mega-blockbuster thing before, playing blonde college gal Gwen Stacy in "Spider-Man 3." Making the publicity rounds for that film back in 2007, Howard encountered many a gleefully obsessed fan of the web-slinging wonderboy. Yet nothing could prepare her for the zealous intensity of the "Twilight" devotees she met after being cast as Victoria in "Eclipse." "I feel, honestly, pressure being part of it because you don't want to let anyone down," Howard told MTV News recently. "People, myself included, have stayed up at night reading the books over and over and over again, and watching the films over and over and over again, and really loving it so, so intensely. Whereas 'Spider-Man,' people are sentimental about it, they love it and are into it and that kind of stuff. Whereas this is passionate." Adding on the anxiety for Howard was the fact that she entered the "Twilight" universe in a controversial manner. Last July, Summit Entertainment suddenly recast the role of Victoria, booting Rachelle Lefevre from the franchise after two films and signing Howard to take over the part. Rather than inventing her own take on the character, Howard found herself altering her usual approach on set. "[T]he role and the character have been established. It's so important to honor that in terms of the storytelling," she said. "When I do a film, I always have all these questions that I'm asking myself, and [for Victoria] someone has mastered that and answered all those questions. Why reinvent the wheel? She created an incredible character." Are "Twilight" fans the most passionate in the movie world? Sound off below! 'Eclipse' Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know

If you're not already in line to see the latest 'Twilight Saga' installment, check out these fun facts!By Eric Ditzian Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in "Eclipse" Photo: Summit Entertainment It's been 222 days since the November 20 release of "New Moon." Over 5,300 hours. Some 319,000 minutes. Not that you've been counting or anything. Now here comes "Eclipse" on Wednesday (June 30) to sate your vampire thirst. What's happened in the time since the "Twilight" franchise has been absent from the multiplex? That's a question we're here to answer with a jam-packed edition of MTV News' cheat sheet. We've pulled together almost everything — every interview, video clip, photo and news update — that we have to offer on this third installment in the series. Read on, and trust us when we say that, afterward, you'll know everything there is to know about what it took to bring "Eclipse" to the big screen. The Solar System Aligns
The movie history of "Eclipse" goes back to November 2008 — before "Twilight" even opened — when Summit Entertainment optioned the movie rights to "New Moon," "Eclipse" and "Breaking Dawn." Studio execs probably felt pretty smart when, one week later, "Twilight" opened to $69.6 million in box-office receipts. The phenomenon was under way, and soon, "Eclipse" had a release date. What it didn't yet have was a director. Rumored names included Drew Barrymore and Juan Antonio Bayona, but the job ultimately went to "30 Days of Night" helmer David Slade. By spring 2009, casting for new roles was under way and the shoot schedule had been revealed, with photography slated to run from August 17 through October 31. By August, of course, the newcomers had signed on: Xavier Samuel as the vampire Riley; Jodelle Ferland as the vampire Bree; Jack Huston as a Depression-era playboy named Royce King; Catalina Sandino Moreno as the vampire Maria; Julia Jones as Leah Clearwater; Tinsel Korey as Emily; and BooBoo Stewart as Seth Clearwater. But the biggest casting move came in July, when Bryce Dallas Howard controversially replaced Rachelle Lefevre in the role of Victoria. The Stars Give Us Sneak Peeks
As the start of production neared, we began to hear the cast dish dirt on the upcoming film. Taylor Lautner revealed his excitement about working with Slade. Jackson Rathbone and Kellan Lutz spoke about their intense preparation for some fight sequences. And Kristen Stewart got excited about the movie's proposal scene, one of her favorite "Eclipse" scenes "Well, to decide you're gonna marry someone at 18 is a pretty hefty decision," she told MTV News. "And I didn't want to look stupid. I didn't want it to look like kids getting married. You know what I mean?" Gazing at "Eclipse"
Filming had barely begun when we got our first look at the cast in action: Howard and Samuel locking lips. Slade also posted pictures on his Twitter account, including a stunning one of Lautner flipping through the air. The first official still arrived in October: Robert Pattinson and Stewart together in a field of wildflowers. Then in March, the first trailer hit the Web, giving us Pattinson and Stewart together in bed, Lautner without his shirt on and even some acrobatic vampire action. "It's badass," Lutz told MTV News about the footage. "The action really drew me in, and I think the guys are really going to like this movie." A second trailer arrived the next month, courtesy of Oprah Winfrey's show. If the first trailer was all about Edward, Bella and Jacob's love triangle, then this one focused squarely on violent action. And in June, Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner took the stage at the MTV Movie Awards to present an exclusive clip from the film. More clips followed: Rosalie's advice to Bella; Edward's warning to Jacob; and the Volturi's observation of the newborn vampire army. The Stars Welcome Us Back
By the summer, the "Eclipse" stars were in full PR mode. We chatted with Elizabeth Reaser, Rathbone, Alex Meraz, Peter Facinelli and many more. We also sat down for extensive conversations with Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner. "It's my favorite, because it's the most guy-friendly by far," Lautner said of "Eclipse." "It's dangerous. There's a lot of action. The romance is still there, but the action level is stepped up way more. It's great." Last Wednesday marked the film's glittering red-carpet premiere in Los Angeles, which MTV News streamed live. Stewart chatted about her "passion" for the franchise, and Pattinson likened the end of the series to "divorcing someone." But just one premiere ain't enough for the "Eclipse" kids. On Monday night, Stewart and Lautner stopped by a secret screening in New York, and, of course, MTV News was on hand to chat with the stars once again. After months of shooting and publicity rounds, with the film's release just hours away, the talk turned to lighter topics. Stewart revealed that she's actually an accomplished chef, while Lautner said you will never see him join up for a role in a big-screen musical. "No," he laughed. "I mean, people actually tell me that I can [sing], but I think they're just being nice — because I definitely can't! No 'Hairspray 2'!"
