Hi Donald,Your Knees going over your toes really sduhlon't affect your lower back. What often happens to people though is because of the lack of glute activation and strength, when they squat they immediately go forward into there quads and knees because the body does not want to use the weaker muscles. Hence that is why you often hear people refer to not letting your knees go over your toes. What may be happening to you is your rounding your upper back and that can cause lower back pain. Also loading a squat from the bar can cause compression on the interverte
al discs in your spine which could cause lower back pain. Its hard to say without being there to evaluate your squat. Stay tuned though for my video coming soon that gives an exercise to teach proper squat mechanics!!! Hope that answers your question!SG
